Goodbye Atlas, Hello ASP.NET Ajax
The final release of Atlas (terrific name), now called ASP.NET Ajax (dumb name), has been released and has sat around long enough for me to finally drop my Atlas code and replace it with ASP.NET Ajax.
Have you ever had the feeling you were implementing something just for the sake of implementing it? I'm not sure the Ajax stuff does anything cool enough to replace the non-Ajax alternatives. I guess it's like candy for a child, you just can't stop.
This upgrade took a couple hours, I couldn't really find a "change this to this" document, which slowed the upgrade down. I don't quite understand why my \Bin directory is now full of assemblies for all kinds of different languages. I guess I'll just wait until VS 2008 is released before worrying too much about it.
